David Walters, CPA, CFP®
Portfolio Manager
David Walters, CPA, CFP®, joined Palisades Hudson as an associate in 2002 after receiving his B.S. in finance and accounting from New York University’s Stern School of Business. He became a client service manager in 2006 and also serves as a member of the firm’s investment committee. A Wisconsin native, David began his career in the Scarsdale office and transferred to Fort Lauderdale in August 2007.
David has extensive experience in the firm’s tax, investment planning, estate planning and accounting practices. Since joining the firm, David has obtained the Certified Public Accountant and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® credentials.
David is the author of several Sentinel articles, including “Avoiding The Partnership Technical Termination Trap” (October 2011), “Don’t Let A ‘Crummey’ Mistake Ruin Your Trust” (June 2010), “Coping With Upside-Down Mortgages” (April 2008), “Tax Planning for a Surviving Spouse” (October 2006), and “Overlooked Election: The IRS Shows Mercy” (June 2004). David also co-wrote “Winning Strategies for Annuity Losses” (June 2003) with Jonathan Bergman.
