Eric Meermann, CFP®, CVA, EA

Eric Meermann, CFP®, CVA, EA, brings his extensive experience to our firm’s investment management, retirement planning, estate planning and tax compliance practices. He is the lead manager for our firm’s business valuation practice and supervises the staff of client service professionals in the Scarsdale office, where he is based. Eric joined Palisades Hudson as an associate in 2000, and has been a client service manager since 2004. He also serves on the firm’s investment committee.

Eric holds the Certified Valuation Analyst designation from the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts, of which he is a member. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certificant and an Enrolled Agent. Eric graduated from New York University’s Stern School of Business with a degree in finance and international business.

Among the many leading publications in which Eric has been quoted as an expert are The New York Times, Forbes, BusinessWeek, Kiplinger’s Retirement Report and The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He has written many articles for the firm’s Sentinel newsletter; recent topics include “Mortgage Strategies For Different Life Stages” (June 2016), “How To Value A Professional Practice” (June 2015, co-authored with Timothy Meyer), “Charitable Giving With Retirement Benefits” (December 2014, online edition), “Best Practices For A Family Office” (June 2014) and “Getting An Employment Contract That Works” (January 2014). Eric is also the author of Chapter 18, “Philanthropy,” in our firm’s book, Looking Ahead: Life, Family, Wealth and Business After 55; he co-authored Chapter 19, “A Second Act: Starting A New Venture” with Paul Jacobs.

Eric currently resides in White Plains, New York.
