In 2026, Palisades Hudson’s Sentinel newsletter is changing.
Sentinel began as a paper newsletter in 1993. At the time, it arrived in subscribers’ physical mailboxes quarterly. We eventually transitioned to a hybrid print and digital model, publishing articles on our website in months between our print issues. In 2020, we said goodbye to print Sentinel, becoming an online-only publication. And this year, we have transitioned again to make Sentinel a Substack newsletter.
New articles from our email newsletter will live behind a paywall. Paid subscribers will receive articles as soon as we publish them, either directly to their email inbox or in the Substack app. We will continue to host our full Sentinel archive here on our website, but after a delay. Articles that run in Sentinel on Substack will make their way to the website 12 months after subscribers receive them. They will also become public on Substack for free subscribers at that time.
As longtime readers know, many of our articles are written to be evergreen and will stay useful indefinitely. Even so, we hope you’ll consider joining us for the new form of Sentinel so you don’t need to wait. If you are finding us here for the first time, our archive offers a sample of the clear and useful expertise our staff has to offer, on subjects ranging from tax planning to investing to estate planning and much more.
If you already receive our monthly bulletin, which arrives mid-month with announcements and highlights from us, that email will remain unchanged. And if you subscribe to our podcast, “Something Personal,” those episodes will also stay freely accessible to all. (We will send Substack subscribers an announcement when a new episode drops for their convenience.)
Don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about this change or would like help signing up for Sentinel by email. Thank you for your ongoing interest in Palisades Hudson. We look forward to bringing you our staff’s insights for many years to come.
